ZUCCHINI NOODLES (ZOODLES)

 

INGREDIENTS:

MAIN INGREDIENTS: 1. Zucchini: 2 2. Garlic cloves:  4 chopped 3. Salt:  As per taste 4. Oil:  2 drops (optional)

 

METHOD:

  1. 1. First cut the 2 ends of the zucchini.
  2. There are 4 methods of making zucchini noodles. You may use whichever method you find easy or depending on which instrument you have at home.
A) SPIRALISER (Available online) 
  1. Place the zucchini inside the thinner part of the blade of the spiralizer and start twisting it.
  2. The zucchini passes through the blade and noodle like strands come out.
  3. The inner pulp of the zucchini can be cut with a knife into small pieces.
B) Vegetable peeler 
  1. Hold the zucchini in one hand and make thin slices with the peeler.
  2. Using a knife, cut the slices into noodle like strands.
C) Grater 
  1. Hold the grater in one hand and the zucchini in the other hand.
  2. Slide the zucchini from top to bottom (vertically) over the grater.
  3. You will get noodle like strands.
D) Vegetable slicer.
  1. Place the slicer on the chopping board.
  2. Slide the zucchini from top to bottom (Vertical) over the slicer. You will get even slices of zucchini on the chopping board.
  3. Using a knife, cut the slices into noodle like strands.
  4. Now place the pan on the Hotplate/Gas/Stove. Brush it with 2 drops of oil(optional). Allow it to heat. Once it is hot, add the chopped garlic on to it and sauté till the garlic turns Brown.
  5. Add the zucchini noodles and stir properly.
  6. Add salt as per taste and stir it properly.
  7. Allow the noodles to cook for around 5-10 minutes. Do not overcook the noodles as water starts releasing and the noodles become soggy.
It is Low calorie, gluten free and a simple, delicious alternative to Maida (Bleached Flour)/ Wheat Noodles. We can all eat noodles without any guilt now!!!!
