- WHAT IS A JUNK FOOD?
- Junk food is a pre-prepared/ processed food which is loaded with calories, but without any nutritional value
- It contains high amount of fats especially Trans-fats, Sugar/ High fructose corn syrup, salt, Maida (bleached flour) and lots of preservatives.
- It generally lacks or contains very little amount of proteins, fibers, vitamins or minerals.
- EXAMPLES OF JUNK FOOD ITEMS:
- Sugary soft drinks e.g. Aerated drinks/Artificial fruit juices/milkshakes
- Burger, Pizza, Pasta
- French fries, Potato chips
- Biscuits, cookies
- Cakes, Pastries, Muffins
- Noodles
- Sausages
- Fried chicken/ fish
- Donuts
- Ice cream and Desserts
- Popcorn, Sugary Cereals
- Batata wada, Samosa, Kachori, Pakoda, Puri and Chat Items
People now think that Eating junk food is symbol of high standard of living. Most of school going, college going students eat junk food regularly.
At the same time, people don’t have option to eat good food outside. You can find Chat, pizza, burger easily than Idali, poli bhaji, or any healthy food.
Can anyone open healthy fast food restaurant?

Very nice info…but this is the fact that these are the food items which is very demanding in public places. These are the food items easily available. People like us don’t find proper restaurants to have nutritious food. But yes will definitely take care of avoiding such food and try to be healthier day by day. Ambadnya
